…Romo still collecting pay checks
Calvin Watkins, of the Dallas Morning News, is reporting that VP Stephen Jones is going to convince his father to let go of the loud mouth receiver, Terrall Owens. A team that imploded this year has their eyes set on improving “team chemistry”. Dallas has already let go of problematic player Adam “Pacman” Jones and it doesn’t seem like they will resign Tank Johnson either.
Owens who complained week after week that he wasn’t getting the ball enough finished the Dallas’ 9-7 season with the most yards ( 69 REC, 1,052 YDS). Tony Romo’s room mate, TE Jason Witten, had the most receptions (81 REC, 952 YDS).
Dallas is more concerned with freeing up their salary cap, however Owens $12 million dollar singing bonus will affect the ‘09 cap even if they decide to part ways.
The Owens decision won’t be decided until the Dallas organization is more certain of their coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett’s relationship with TO has reached the point where the two can’t work together. However Garrett has been interviewing for head coaching jobs, therefore putting Owens’ fate with Dallas on hold.

Mark Sanchezzzzzzzzz is expected to forgo his senior season at USC and join Carson Palmer and Matt Lienhart as USC-Alumni-Pro-busts. Sanchez, certainly NOT one of the greatest QBs to come out of USC, has thrown less then 4,000 YDS in his 3 seasons as a Trojan.
Don’t be fooled, Shanchezzzzz isn’t forgoing his senior year because he feels he’s ready. The QB draft class awaiting us in 2010 will most likely feature Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow, and Sam Bradford…making this the only year Bradford can get some value for his name.
I don’t even think Detroit will bite….

…Says “Fuck Tebow, I’m back”
Heisman winner, National Championship loser, Sam Bradford is expected to return on Oklahoma for the 09 Season bringing him back to now AP 6th ranked Oklahoma. Bradford who threw for 4,721 YDS completing 67.9% of his passes with a final ranking of 180.86…Yes, a higher ranking over the Savior Tim Tebow.

Parcels and Sparano share a sigh of relief.
Offensive-line coach Mike Maser was the first personal member hired by first-year, Head-Coach Tony Sparano last year. This year, Maser was the first fired by the Dolphin organization. It’s unclear on who actually pulled the trigger, but if I had to guess look no further then Bill Parcels, VP of football operations. In his short tenure under Saprano and Miami, the Dolphins were the NFL’s No. 11 rushing offense in 2008, averaging 118.6 rushing yards per game, and the 12th-best offense overall with 345.6 yards per game. In 2007, the Dolphins finished as the NFL’s 28th overall offensive.
No doubt the letting go of Maser was due to the first round lost Miami suffered in the playoffs. I’ll admit that Miami’s expectations should be set high, but letting go of a man who dramatically improved the O-line within the last year is down right silly. The Dolphins were 1-15 in 2007…If they finished this season 8-8, missing the playoffs, STILL NO ONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED.
Congratulations, the 12th-best offense in the leauge lets go of the man who designed the O-line…That means there are 20 teams willing to take Maser in.

Barack Obama congradulated Tim Tebow and Florida State on their BCS win, defeating Oklahoma 24-14. However Obama said “If I’m Utah, or if I’m USC or if I’m Texas, I might still have some quibbles. That’s why we need a playoff”

…Bum foot expected to come with him
Chris “Beanie” Wells announced Thursday afternoon he would be forging his senior year as a Buckeye, in order to enter April’s NFL Draft. It was a very quick conference which featured a simple, run-of-the-mil goodbye.
“I want to thank my teammates, my coaches, my teachers and the academic advisors for all they have done, and I definitely want to thank the Buckeye fans for all their support. Ohio State has become like a family to me, and it will always be that way. But in the best interest of my family, it’s time to move on and take a chance at fulfilling my lifetime dream of playing in the NFL.”
He is anticipated to be selected as the second RB in this year’s Draft behind Knowshon Moreno. However, as we’ve seen in recent draft-class years RBs haven’t shown their worth in the NFL, with the exception of Tennessee’s Lyndale White and Chicago’s Matt Forte.

Former MVP, RB LaDainian Tomlinson stated that he would be “Doubtful” for Sunday’s Divisional AFC playoff against the Pittsburgh Steerlers. LT sat out of practice on Wednesday confirming that he has “Definitely torn” the tendon that connects the pubic bone to his groin. NFL Coaches don’t have to announce status reports until Friday, but Ladainian has already cemented that it’s a 75% chance he won’t play.
All that was left? Empty bottles of Medamucil
John Smoltz is expected to sign with the Boston Red Sox this afternoon, for a 1 year/5.25 million dollar guaranteed deal (and another 5 million is possible through incentives). Smotlz’ agent said the “incentives [with the Red Sox] is more attainable then other offers”. Smoltz in his 21 seasons with the Braves garnard 210 victories and 154 saves.

Pacman released for alleged 2007 shooting incident, Romo still free…even after stealing Jerry Jone’s money and Dallas’ hopes.
After allegations arose from a 2007 shooting incident that CB Adam “Pacman” Jones, he may or may not have been a part of, the Dallas Cowboys have decided to part ways. Reporter John Barr, from “Outside the Lines” contacted the NFL after learning that such an incident may have occured from three Atlanta men. The men alleged that Pacman had ordered them dead in a ‘mafioso style hit’ outside of an Atlanta night-club.
Pacman has said he will attempt to sue ESPN, stating “That’s just stupid, no more comments”. Before Pacman was traded to Dallas, he was involved in 6 arrests and over a dozen instances requiring police investigations.
Jones will continue to work out at Deon Sander’s Prime-U camp.
“Outside the Line’s” report will air this Sunday night on ESPN.
